Questions we hear a lot
Where are you based?
We’re located in Hermon and happily serve all of Maine, because we love to travel. Travel anywhere in the state is included at no extra cost. The one exception is the Grad Mini, which stays in the Greater Bangor area.
Do you have a studio?
Yes. Any session can happen in our studio, on location or at your home. The studio is a great backup for Maine weather, too.
How long is a session?
We don’t run on a timer. Most sessions wrap up in under 2 hours, and we keep going until you have everything you want.
How far ahead should we book?
Four to eight weeks for most sessions. Fall senior and family dates go first, so book those by early summer.
How do we reserve a date?
A $150 retainer holds your date and goes toward your balance. The rest is due on the session day.
What if it rains?
We watch the forecast together. If we decide the weather won’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule at no charge or move into the studio. That’s always our call, and it never counts against you.
What if someone gets sick?
Life happens. Let us know as soon as you can and we’ll reschedule. Your first reschedule has no penalty; a second reschedule requires a new $150 retainer.
We’re awkward in photos. Is that okay?
Completely. We direct every pose and keep things moving, so you never have to guess what to do.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Friendly dogs are always welcome, and wanted. Bring a leash, treats and, if you can, a helper.
Who do you photograph?
Everyone. We’re proudly 100% LGBTQ+ friendly, and every person, couple and family is welcome here.
What should we wear?
We send a planning guide with outfit ideas after you book, and we’re always happy to look at options with you. Maternity clients can borrow from our dress closet.
When do we get our photos?
Soft proofs arrive within 15 business days of your session. After you choose your favorites, your final images are delivered within 45 business days. Headshots are faster: 7 days after you choose. Albums take an additional 2–4 weeks.
Are digital files included?
Yes. Every collection includes edited digital images, and you can order prints, albums and wall art from your gallery.
Do you edit every photo?
Every image in your gallery is hand-edited for color and light. Retouching stays natural, so you still look like you.
Can we use the photos anywhere?
Personal sessions include a print release. Headshot and branding sessions include full usage rights for your business.
Do you both come to every session?
Either of us can take your session. Signature Senior and Heirloom sessions include both photographers.
Can you photograph our team at the office?
Yes. We bring lights to your workplace for team headshots, with a 3-person minimum.
What kinds of events do you cover?
Graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, fundraisers and company parties. Coverage has a 2-hour minimum.
